esa are delighted to announce that we are fully refurbishing the swimming pool at barrow Primary School near Bury St Edmunds to give us a new base in Suffolk. The treasured swimming pool, funded and built by the Barrow village community over 50 years ago now, was in need of a major refurbishment to bring it up to 21st century standards and to ensure its use all year round.

Elite Swimming Academy Ltd. needed an additional swimming pool to expand our capacity to deliver weekly programs of high-quality swimming lessons and intensive programmes during school holidays. We therefore saw a great opportunity to work together to totally revamp the pool and work has already begun!

Headteacher, Helen Ashe said,

‘We are delighted that our pool’s future is secure. This is an important development to our provision here at Barrow School.’

This major refurbishment is under way with new insulation, new floors, showers and a toilet, all being installed. In addition, an air-source heat pump which will heat the pool using just 25% of the current electricity consumption is being installed.  The upgraded swimming pool is due to re-open in January 2016.
esa founder, Ed Williams said,
‘We feel very privileged to work on this project with Barrow Primary School and we can’t wait to start coaching children in the new venue. We’re looking forward to offering private lessons in this beautifully refurbished pool.’
When the refurbishment work has been completed, the upgraded pool will be used:
•    by Barrow CEVC Primary School to offer swimming, as part of their curriculum throughout the school year not just in the Summer Term,
•    by Elite Swimming Academy Ltd for private high-quality swimming lessons after school every day and in school holiday periods.
•    by the local community through an extended period for lettings.
