(sometimes known as the “Pied Piper”*)
I have recently transferred my love for swimming to swim teaching. A keen swimmer and father of two club swimmers, I was particularly successful as a competitive breaststroke swimmer, and hold several open water breaststroke records, including the first UK breaststroke Ice Mile!
As a swim teacher, I believe in being encouraging and supportive of all my students, young and less young, of new learners through improvers to those consolidating their swimming. Not only is swimming a life skill, it gives students and their families confidence in and around water and, of course, it is good exercise. In my experience, once learnt, the enjoyment of swimming lasts a lifetime.
I hope to be the catalyst to give you or your family a firm foundation to enjoy the water and look forward to meeting you.
*In the Cambridgeshire/Northants/Bedfordshire area open water swimming community I have been called the Pied Piper for consistently encouraging people to swim outdoors, develop their knowledge of safe open water swimming and enjoy our local rivers. Most recently in the Guardian www.theguardian.com
