Alison

Hi I am Alison; I have been a swimming teacher for almost 7 years now and have been working with Elite for the past few years. I have loved swimming all my life and swam for my county until the age of 18. I continued with swimming at University and during my first year our team made it to the finals at Loughborough! I am a school teacher by day so working with children is definitely a passion of mine. I am fun yet still know how to keep children in line and progressing to their full potential.

Anthony

I have been a Swim Teacher for 9 Years and have worked for the Elite academy for 3 years.I have been involved in swimming since a very young age and I really enjoy swimming as a sport. I enjoy teaching all ages and abilities and always work hard to get great results. I believe my enthusiasm and experience makes me a successful teacher. I currently teach 6 days a week and run our scheme at Quy mill Hotel.  I really love working for the Academy and I believe in the scheme so much that I recently enrolled my son and its all he talks about

Carolyn

I'm from California, where I did loads of ocean swimming.  I used to compete in triathlons and open water swim races.  I still swim almost daily and absolutely love the sport.  I've been teaching swimming since February 2011 and recently started coaching.  I love sharing my enthusiasm for such a fun activity and seeing the joy that the children bring to the class.  I push my students hard, but I always try and keep it fun.

Ed

I am one of the Directors of Elite Swimming Academy as well as one of our teachers. I swam at national Master Level for many years competing mainly in butterfly and backstroke before swimming the Channel in 2006 which led onto forming Elite Swimming Academy to pass my knowledge and passion onto others. I love teaching children but also love coaching adults at the higher levels which include Channel Swimmers, triathletes and Olympians.

Katy

I have been a teacher for 2 yrs and have always loved swimming as a sport since a child. I also competed at County Levels as a teenager. I am a "water baby" at heart  and could not live my life without a faint aroma of chlorine! I'm young, fun and full of enthusiasm for teaching and swimming. In my spare time I am also a special Constable so I certainly know how to keep my students in line as well as having fun!

Liam

I have a lot of experience in teaching children having worked with children, in various different environments for most of my life. My experience in water stems from a love of being in it and around it from a very early age. I swam for my county when I was a youngster, I have been a PADI Instructor and taught young children and adults to dive in the worlds oceans. Making people at ease in strange environments is a good skill I posses. Having two young children of my own helps me relate to the younger age groups very well. I pride myself on having a very clear and direct way of teaching that captures my students attention and imaginations to help them progress. I make it fun for my students while maintaining a good work ethic.

Nigel

Hi I’m Nigel; I have been a swimming teacher for 7 years and a swimmer for as long as I can remember! Following my experience in teaching and coaching I decided to further my knowledge by going to Manchester Metropolitan University where I studied Coaching and Sport Development, while at university I swam for the university and also taught on a local swim school in Cheshire. As well as teaching for Elite Swimming Academy I am also head coach of Bottisham Swimming Club where I am responsible for coaching and improving the techniques of over 100 swimmers. I take great pride in my teaching/coaching for delivering great sessions for all swimming abilities while keeping every session fun and enjoyable.

Richard

I started competitive swimming in 2000 and since then I have represented the county and have been a regional and BUSA national finalist / medallist. At university I first completed my undergraduate degree in sport and exercise science and then a postgraduate diploma in physiology and biomechanics. During my studies I carried out a series of investigations into the biomechanics and physiology of swimming as well as assisting in regional development swimming camps and master athletes research. I love teaching children and passing on my knowledge and experience to them.

Sarah

I always wanted to be the Little Mermaid growing up (still do), which may explain why my work and play continued to be based around water. When I am not teaching for The Elite Swimming Academy, I enjoy running my Synchronised swimming classes and teaching for a disability club. In the holidays you will find me doing my other passion being a PADI Professional Divemaster, Diving wrecks and caves around the Mediterranean. I will always bring fun to lessons; however I like to achieve quick progression from my students, this means my lessons will never be too easy!

Simon

I have taught swimming for many years after gaining International age group Honours for Great Britain when I used to compete. I am a fully qualified British Triathlon coach as well as a swimming coach. I have a BSc in Sports Science and Business Studies which really helps me with my teaching. I am passionate, knowledgeable and patient with every class and love to see my students progress.

Sue

I am a very experienced teacher having taught for 21 years! Over my career I have also competed as a swimmer at County Age Group meetings and Masters competitions. I love teaching adults, parent and child, diving, synchronised swimming and children with various different needs. I am a patient teacher, able to change and adapt methods of communication to get points across.I look on pupils as friends having fun in the water but at the same time delivering a quality swimming lesson. I feel my biggest asset as a teacher is bestowing confidence with my knowledge and passing on a life skill with the lifelong passion and enjoyment of water I have had from my own swimming. I hope in years to come the children I have taught will think of me with fondness as I do about my own past swimming teachers.

Tracy

I have been teaching with Elite since the beginning over 4 years ago! With a lifetime of experience as a swimmer, teacher and coach there is not much I have not seen is the industry and it is a pleasure to work with such a quality organisation. Having 2 teenage children of my own means that I can relate with children very well and know how to handle all personalities. I am a little on the stricter side but always make sure that my students have a great deal of fun along the way!I love to teach both children and adults to achieve a lifelong skill of being able to swim. I am passionate about water safety and get a great deal of satisfaction teaching life saving skills as well as swimming.

Vanessa

Teaching children to swim is a definite passion of mine. There's nothing more satisfying than watching a child achieve their full potential & this drives me to become the best teacher possible. I used to swim competitively for nearly 10 years & even though I am no longer a part of a club, swimming is still a huge part of my life. I am my most comfortable & happiest when surrounded by water. I have a good connection & understanding  with children of all ages.

Will

I first jumped into a pool and started swimming at the age of 2 and have been around water ever since. I became a swimming teacher in 2002 and have enjoyed teaching ever since.  I take grate pride in teaching children and adults the skills to save a life, as well as developing aquatic based activates to enjoy for life. Before I moved to Dubai in 2006 I had been working as a swimming teacher and springboard / highboard diving coach around Cambridge. Whilst in Dubai I set up, managed and taught at the largest swimming academy in the Middle East. Towards the end of my time in Dubai I completed my PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructors qualification, where I was teaching a marine conservation program aimed at children.I am very much looking forward to working with Elite Swimming Academy and I look forward to meeting you all soon.
